Driving Directions from Rogers Park to Kraff Eye Institute

Depending on traffic, driving from Rogers Park to the Kraff Eye Institute takes anywhere between 30- to 50-minutes, depending on the time of day and week. Rogers Park is only about 11 miles away from the city center, but you should plan for traffic to take a little longer on the weekends.

  • Start at the center of Rogers Park, near the intersection of N Sheridan Rd and W Morse Ave.
  • Head south on N Sheridan Rd toward W Devon Ave.
  • Continue on N Sheridan Rd; merge onto N Lake Shore Dr via the ramp on the left.
  • Stay on N Lake Shore Dr for approximately 7 miles, enjoying views of Lake Michigan from Montrose Beach and passing through neighborhoods like Edgewater and Uptown.
  • Take the Randolph St exit from N Lake Shore Dr.
  • Turn left onto E Randolph St, then a right onto N Michigan Ave.
  • Turn left onto E Washington St; Kraff Eye Institute will be on your right, just past the Chicago Cultural Center.
  • Note: Traffic can be heavier during weekday mornings and late afternoons. Consider timing your drive during off-peak hours

Catch the Red Line at the Morse station in Rogers Park. Transfer to the Brown, Orange, Pink, or Purple Line at Lake station. Exit at Washington/Wabash, and walk less than a block to reach the institute.

CTA Bus:

Board the #147 Outer Drive Express bus, which runs directly from Howard Street in Rogers Park to Michigan Ave in downtown Chicago. Alight at Randolph St, and walk two blocks west to our location.


Use the Rogers Park Metra station on the UP-N line. Transfer to the CTA at Ogilvie Transportation Center. Take any eastbound bus along Washington St or walk 15 minutes to reach 25 E Washington St.
