Most patients from Lower West Side can return to their downtown Chicago workplace within 24-48 hours after LASIK surgery, similar to Lincoln Park residents. However, if your job involves extensive computer work (1) or exposure to environmental elements, you might want to schedule your procedure before a weekend to allow additional recovery time. We recommend avoiding dusty construction areas common in downtown Chicago during your initial recovery period.
