What is Ophthalmologist?

An ophthalmologist is an eye care professional with a Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree. Following medical school, an ophthalmologist completes a residency in ophthalmology. Ophthalmologists can be generalists, or they can specialize in an area such as corneal disease or retina.
