Microkeratome

A microkeratome is a precision surgical instrument with a thin blade that can be used to create the flap in lamellar (layered) surgery, such as LASIK. Although microkeratomes are still in use, they have largely been replaced with femtosecond lasers, which can also be used to cut tissue.
