Keratectomy

Keratectomy comes from the Greek words “keratos” (cornea) and “ectomia” (to remove). Keratectomy describes the surgical removal of tissue from the cornea. This can be done mechanically using a blade or a burr, or with a laser, depending on the type of procedure.
