Kamra Inlay Surgery
What to Expect on Day of Surgery
From start to finish, the KAMRA® inlay procedure will typically take less than 20 minutes and is done in the comfort of our offices. You may feel slight pressure while one of our doctors use a laser to create a small opening in the first few layers of your eye, known as the cornea. However, it only lasts a few seconds. We will provide you with numbing drops to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. Dr. Kraff will then pace the inlay within the opening in the cornea.
After surgery, your eyes may feel irritated or scratchy and you may also experience excessive tearing or light sensitivity. This is normal. Dr. Kraff will provide you additional medications to help you manage these symptoms.
To learn more, watch this short video about the procedure.
You will not be able to drive home following the procedure so make arrangements prior to surgery for someone to give you a ride from our offices.
